trying to only buy one machine, i have 50 acre field, no brush just grass and weeds, i only have time to mow about every 2 months. have to drive 5 miles black top and 10 miles gravel road to field, could i drive tool cat with attachment easily would like to get more than 18 miles per hour out of it will also be moving dead trees maintaining road etc.; i also have 5 acre lawn and you know things come up to do around home lifting and property care. so considering toolcat with bucket and 90 inch finish mower, i've heard in july toolcat coming with pto and 3 point hitch to increase it's options even more. and since i have not bought this type equipment before, maybe like buying new pickup should price be about 10-15% off sticker thanks

I have owned CUTs and skidsteers but not a Toolcat. I plan to get a 3 pt version if they would just make the darn thing. The 3 pt should be a nice blend but it won't have the dump box. I will probably make something to fit on the 3pt and give me some dump/cargo capability (hydraulic dump box?). 10-15% off MSRP would be about right IMHO. The D series with independant suspension has been out for over a year and problems seem to be few.
You will have slightly over an hour drive each way to do your mowing. If you plan to mow 50 acres that will take a few days. I don't think the 90 mower will do a good job if only mowing every 2 months. Like most finish mowers, it wont work well in tall grass. The front mounted brush mower is only 60" and will take a long time to mow. Might consider a 3 pt mower with pto but the toolcat can probably only lift a 6' or maybe light duty 7'. Could consider a pto driven pull type mower in the 8' range for mowing and not too wide to haul down the road.

are you thinking bobcat will have pull behind 7 or 8 foot deck for new toolcat with pto and 3 point hitch , or probably ok to match new toolcat with most any tractor pull behind deck thanks

Bobcat does not have any pull type mowers. Rhino and others make pull type models. The downside to pull mowers, is limited sharp turns due to the pto and a little harder to back up. The pto hp of the 3 pt toolcat will probably be around 30 hp. If you get a pull type mower, get air plane tires, foam filled airplane tires or heavy duty ag tires. Most will come with laminated tires which are very hard when traveling at road speeds- especially if going 15 miles.

72-96" Cut

I agree that using a Bobcat near finish mower once every two months on tall grass is probably not a good solution. I have the 72" Bobcat near finish mower and I try to mow once a week during the growing season. The mower really slows down at two weeks. And with three weeks' grass growth, I'll use the 60" Brushcat instead.

i have the 90 mower and 60 brushcat. 90 mower every 2 months not a good solution. it is a near finish mower. its blades are similar to a zero turn mower. 60 is great but would take a very long time. if you only really need a mower the tc is a very expensive option that is really not ideal for mowing larger fields compared to a tractor. it excels in doing everything and with more precision than a tractor; however, in the fields the tractor has a sig advantage - for the same price you can get into a 75-100 hp tractor and 8 or 9 foot pull behind mower. for a lot less you can buy a used tractor. i owned a 85 hp 9000lb tractor prior to the tc. the only time i miss it is in the fields.

wow - just noticed you said 50 acre field - thought it was 5 acres first. i have 2 8 acre fields. i only mow 1/2 of each. 50 acres is going to take a long weekend to mow with the tc! i would not rec the tc for that big of a field. the tc takes at least 2x as long as my prior tractor that pulled a 9ft mower.

With 50 acres, I would be looking for a farmer to plant it into hay and then come and take it off. IMHO, it is silly spending that kind of money on diesel fuel just living the clippings on the ground.

Farmer cuts it and you make a buck, cant get better than that. IMHO.
