I thought the forum would like this picture of my 5'7" wife in front of this single bottom plow.

This plow was and is used to prepare new vineyard ground in the foothills of Virginia. Enjoy

It takes a Cat not a mule to pull that, D-6 or bigger, usually more like a D-8, You should see the disc that goes with it.

Indeed the vineyard does rent a dozer to pull this single bottom plow. The soil in central Virginia,"the piedmont", is composed of deep red clay that will not wash out of your clothes. Most of this old farmland is,also, deeply compacted from cattle and sheep farming over the last two hundred and fifty years. It is a three year process from deep plowing to actually planting the grapevines.
