Hi Al, nobody can help because nothing ever goes wrong with these Iseki/Bolens tractors, didn't you know? (I have a TS1610F ) But all seriousness aside, if you look down to the Iseki Forum a ways down the page you can post your question there and get help. There is a list of suppliers you can do a search for in that forum. Also, contributors like Len Shaeffer of "Shaeffer's Town & Country Tractor" have parts tractors as well as new parts. Good luck,

Thanks a lot. I've been in touch with Leonard Schaefer, but he cannot help either. He says the next time he orders from Japan, he will request a cable.
I just bought this thing, so I don't know much about them.....But, my research, on the net, seems to bear out your feelings that nothing much goes wrong with them.....This one has a back hoe and loader attached and both work great....Thanks again for your reply....
OK, according to my Bolens / Iseki parts manual, the cable is called a "meter cable," Ref. #57-20 in the book, and there are two different part code nos. (take your pick):
1862883
1421-621-0060-0
However, I haven't had much luck using the no's in the book when ordering from, say, Rainbow Distr. in Hawaii. Rainbow Distributors Inc. - Agricultural Farm Equipment They are the only new Iseki tractor importers for the US and I just explained the part I needed over the phone and he knew what I was talking about. As for the steering gearbox, I don't even see a separate part number for the box assembly. It's all under the steering assembly as a unit. Seems to me you could adapt a like sized steering gearbox from a Yanmar or other compact tractor, easier to find and for a lot less money than a new Iseki unit. Hope this helps.
Yes, I thought about trying to find another similar tractor but in my area of N.E Pa., they are not that plentiful. Schaefer did tell me he can rebuild the unit for 400 plus shipping, so that will have to be a winter project. Thanks for the Hawaii ads. If all else fails, I will try to get something done through that dealer...
G,day Al for your cable you may be able to try a speedo/gauge repair co i know alot over here will make new inners for the cable or if they have to a complete cable usually cheaper than genuine best of luck
