Iseki difficult start when hot

Hi,

Wonder if someone can help . . .
I recently bought an occasion Iseki 2101 (200 hours)
It operates fine.
When cold, it starts like a dream, as soon as you touch the key
When hot it starts very difficult. The battery has problems getting the engine around.
To be sure I replaced the battery by a more powerful one (640A in stead of 570A)
It improved the situation a bit. But still when I drove around for about 15 minutes the engine barely starts. The startermotor does not get the engine around. Like the battery is flat.
What can be the problem?

I'd check the valve lash [gap] if there to tight it will cause hard turning over and starting,You say only 200 hrs ?? positive about that ??As always Larry

Before doing that check your levels oil ,anyifreeze.what grade of oil.is the tractor cooling properly not getting to hot. Do this checks first,Larry

There could be a host of different reasons as to why its hard to start when its hot.How hot does it actually get.When was the last time the valves where adjusted.What about the injection pump timing.Fuel issue's.I know you say it's a 2001 with 200 hrs but are you sure.Can you find out from the previous owner what problems they had.Thats the thing with buying something used you could be buying someone else's problem.Your going to have to do some digging in order to get to the bottom of your tractors problem.Its always nice to know the history of it so you can get some idea as to what it was doing before you bought it.I've run into many different problems with buying used stuff seems there's always a reason it was sold cheap but in the end unless you can do repairs yourself it can get costly.Good luck with trying to get it working properly as there's many different things that can cause hard starting when hot and hard turning over.As always Larry

being in the starter and alternator business the starter is often overlooked as a slow start problem when it gets hot. the 2 most common problems with slow start when starter is problem have local rebuilder check out the solenoid and the bushings. not sure where starter is located on this tractor also see if possibly a heat shield over starter is missing if you cant find local rebuilder contact me i will find one close to you if you get to the point of possible starter problem
