i thought about that also. but if i can get the oem gaskets relatively easy then i would, but im going to go your route, thanks again for your help
Hello, I tried to get OEM gaskets for my tractor and found an online parts supplier who
told me that they could get any gasket I needed so I ordered 4 just in case
I screwed one up. After waiting many many weeks they told me that they
could not get those gaskets. I did some research and found out that the
gaskets I needed were called compressed gaskets. I was able to find out
the thickness and found a place here in New Jersey that sold the gasket
material I needed and this material was now asbestos free. You need the correct
thickness gasket material so when assembled the end play of any of the shafts
is correct. When the material is compressed from the start it stays at that
thickness but also seals like a gasket should. I still have at lest 8 feet
by 4 foot wide roll of gasket material so where are you and if you want
I can send you what you need to make your gaskets, free.
If you are interested send me a PM. Or not.
