Just new owner of an Iseki TS 1910. Tractor has about 1500 h, is in excellent state (repainted by formal owner), runs very well.
I just have the impression that the starter tuns slower than other diesel engines (like my modern volvo diesel). The battery is fully loaded en the cables are checked for bad connections.
Do other 1610/1910 owners have the same impression concerning the starter speed, or shall I take out the starter for an internal cleaning?

I have a TS1610 and I've always thought that it turned over kind of lazy. Certainly not what you would expect with a gas engine. But I though it was probably normal since it starts up OK.

I have a TS1610. It turns over slowly, especially slow cracking on cold days.

I am thinking of trying a different battery.

I was thinking also of trying 10-30w or 5w-40w oil. Perhaps that will lighten the starting load if it has 30w oil. That may be helpful on the colder days.

During the WE, I did 2 experiments:

1/ Changing the oil to 5W40: no improvement of the starter speed.

2/ Removing the 2 glow plugs and cranking (so without pressure in the cilinders due to the connection with the open air via the glow plug holes): no impovement of the starter speed.

Has anybody results with a starter overhaul?

My last experiment was a succes:

I changed the flow plugs for a pair of new ones. The old glow plugs ware not bad. They had both a resistance of 1.8 ohm.It took about 20-30 seconds to get the glow plug controller in the dash board light red.

With the new glow plug it takes about 5 seconds (!) to get the glow plug controller in the dashboard red, and the color is much more white, indicating that there is a higher current drain through the glow plugs.
Even with the slow turning over starter , the Iseki fires now at 1 full turn.

On my TS 1610 I ran a new ground wire directly from the battery to the mounting lug of the starter and it significantly speeded up the starter. The old ground was just connected to the frame at the front of the tractor.
