Iseki TS3510
Hi all, I've just recently revived this Iseki after an approximately 20 year hiatus sitting in a shed. To begin with the clutch wouldn't disengage when it was first started. After mucking around with it for a bit the clutch seemed to free up and let me select gears and have driven it about 4km.

Unfortunately now it seems the clutch is slipping maybe? I can select gears but it really struggles to take up speed even getting stopped by a small grass kerb in our orchard in first gear high range. I can also start the tractor from stationary in 4th gear and let the clutch out and it won't stall. There's about a good 2 inches of free play in the clutch pedal. Is this the clutch slipping and I have to get someone to install a new one or can I make adjustments to get it to bite again?

This tractor has quite a bit of sentimental value to my parents but at the same time don't want to spend much money on it if I can help it.

Thanks.

Hopefully if they got it new there's a owners manual somewhere you can check the adjustments as noted in the manual. On my Ford 1900 there was.

Otherwise do some google searching for what you need. Maybe someone has published a service manual online for you as well or a owners manual.

If you can't locate a manual a good rule of thumb is about an inch of free play at the pedal. I think two inches is too much and a probable cause of your slipping clutch.

Thanks for your replies. Unfortunately it’s still slipping after I’ve adjusted the linkage to remove the free play in the picture below. Any other ideas? Thanks

here’s a video of what’s happening

The tractor is over forty years old. I don't know how it's been used or cared for but at that age it is entirely possible the clutch is shot. I suspect that would entail separating the tractor halves - a major (to me) repair.

What ever you do, give it a bath first....lol Once you spin a clutch there isn't any going back except a split and a new clutch disc and most likely a new pressure plate and flywheel refacing because you've euchered the flywheel by spinning the clutch. Have fun.
