Iseki TX1500 & TX1300F
Hi Guys,

Been a while since I've been on here, very busy with projects and travel.

A couple of months ago I got sick of the dead beat engine on my TX1300F, however this is my go to tractor as it has the 4WD and the FEL. The engine needs a total rebuild - but that's another story.

But I have 2WD TX1500 that is near perfect and has a really strong and easy starting engine. So decision made, I was going to swap the TX1500 engine into the TX1300F.

But you don't just do that right? Because the Engine is actually part of the chassis on these things, specifically it holds the front wheel assembly and on the 1300, the FEL.

So really what I did was break the 2 tractors down to major assemblies and then reconstruct a very good TX1500F and a TX1300 (2WD) in need of reconditioning.

Here's a few photos:

Quite easy to move around if you leave the wheels on.

And a badly running TX1300!

Back to work!

The TX1500F has new front tyres and a few other tweaks, and still needs some work on the hydraulic hoses, but that can wait a little while.

The TX1300 (2WD) is waiting in the barn for me to recon the engine and give her a respray, could be waiting a few months yet!

Nice job - I did a similar swap. Some odd things I learned along the way was the KE70 engine wasn't performing as poorly as I originally thought. Seems like the 4wd tractor is just harder to move around and heavier. With the additional hydraulics on the 4wd tractor, starting seems much harder (motor turns much slower) especially in cold weather. I'm not saying I wouldn't have done it again, just some things I've noticed. Otherwise it was a pretty straightforward swap as you pointed out. Have fun with the new configurations!

I think I read your engine swap thread a while back.

I know what you're saying about the 4WD soaking up a lot of power. Hadn't noticed a harder start up, but did the swap after the winter. The KE70 was okay for power but it has compression issues, so I need to do the rings (already did a valve grind), might also need the injectors pulled and inspected. So I did the swap because I needed the more reliable engine in the tractor that gets used the most.

I have another motive too, I only need one tractor really, so now I have all the best gear from both in one tractor, I can sell the 2WD once I have it running and looking good.

dantnz that is a proper job.

If you are contemplating doing up the other TX, I can recommend
Used Japanese tractors, small tractor implements, Japanese tracotor parts, Kubota tractors, Yanmar tractors, Iseki tractors, Shibaura tractors, Mitsubishi tractors
in hungary for parts. I sent an email and they correctly identified the parts and told me some of them would be 2 weeks to order in. Price was excellent and I got just what I wanted for my low level engine overhaul.

I have no commercial connection with them by the way.

Hi all, I realize this is an old thread but would any of you happen to have a template for the FEL mount that goes under the tractor that holds the uprights? I have a Bolens G174/Iseki TX 1500F and am having plenty of trouble locating the mount. Thanks for any assistance.
