I have what I imagine is an older style fuel filter chamber on my tractor which has a metal collar. It doesnt appear to have a thread to dismantle it. Can anyone advise on how I get the old filter out and the new one in? Thanks.
I've not seen your tractor but some of the older fuel filters used a wire bail to hold the bowl in place. There was a thumb screw which put pressure between the bowl and the bail. You could loosen the thumb screw and move the bail to one side.
I think I have figured out that this version of fuel filter assembly wasnt designed to be opened. I think it was designed to be thrown away. Aftermarket assemblies appear to still be available.
