iseki tx1500 starter running slow: looking for 'grounding terminator'?

A great investment for electrical troubleshooting is a DC amp clamp. The KE75 engine in one of my tractors will pull 400 amps on startup and on cold days that isn't always enough to get the engine turning fast enough to start. I've changed starters, put in a new battery, and cables (upgraded from 4 to 2 gauge) all with no significant improvement. On the really cold days a block heater is your friend if you can wait for it or know you'll need it ahead of time. It sounds like your problems are different but there is a limit to how much a person can do when the cold weather sets in. I even thought about installing a temporary 6VDC battery in series with the installed battery on the really cold days because that would help a lot but a person risks burning up glow plugs and potentially other electrical equipment unless the starter is isolated and the 18V applied directly to it. For now jump starting from another vehicle is getting me by as needed...

I am not really sure what an 'amp clamp' is, but can a (quite good) multimeter do this?

And i live in Poland, i get my share of cold (at this moment it's -2 in daytime), but when i picked up this tractor it also was not really warm, and starting was no problem.

I will do modifications/test this evening and i will post result tomorrow.

Thanks for the help and have a great day.

Here is a DC amp clamp that has worked well for me: Mastech-MS2115A

You can get cheaper ones but at some point price starts reflecting adequacy/quality.

Ok i tried the trick with putting really thick ground cable to the negative pole and connected it to chassis but no result.

So i connected the hydraulics again from this excavator and tsjakka! started in one second.

After this i kept it running for one hour just to make it nice and warm, and after shutdown i disconnected the hydraulics again.

Same result, starter running slower, and getting it started was really painful. But in the end it worked, so i finally did a small round on the field, really love the power of this little f*cker. :)

At least now i know that i can get it started and prepare for transport, in 3 weeks i have appointment with a dealer 100km away, to get it (big) serviced. I have the feeling this machine was used only for play, and i think it needs a lot of love.

Another question (maybe i should open new topic?): I really want to get a front loader on this machine. First because i think it needs the extra weight in the front, second because i can really use it on the things i want to do, and third it just makes a tractor look really good :)

What prices to expect? I have read from some local shop that makes this stuff for just over 1000 euro (new, complete, and installed). Any indication on what price is 'normal'?

Thanks again, have a great xmas.

I can't help with prices, but I absolutely agree these tractors need more front weight. I've only had mine a couple months, but I'm looking for weight at the front.
I'm glad you're got it running, these tractors are a nice size for many of us.

So I would conclude the hydraulics are currently plumbed to utilize the excavator as a pass-through. When you got it running withot the excavator attached it was probably lifting the internal relief valve continuously. Did you hear a squealing or anything like a rumbling noise? If you connect a jumper hose to where the excavator connects (from inlet to excavator and then to the outlet from excavator) this will allow the flow to bypass without using the relief valve which will allow it to start as it should.

I agree. This week i will find a shop where i can buy the parts to create this 'closed loop' which will probably (hopefully) fix this starting problem.

Thanks for the help/tips.

Happy holidays!
