Finalizing choice. Mitsibushi 7400 w/loader, Iseki TL 2800 w/loader, Iseki 1910 F w/loader, or Shibaru P19F w/loadeer. Price range is between $6500 - $9000. We have 2 1/2 gently rolling acres. Landscaping use. Am concerned w/initial outlay and parts/service availability on each one. Thanks.

Have you given any thought to Yanmar? Just my 2 cents but where Iam located it is much easier to get parts and service on Yanmar. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So do you expect to never need parts? If you have found a good, consistent source for even 75% of the parts on those machines, I would love to know about it. Good machines, no problem there. Absolutely no consistent or central parts supply to our knowledge. Sooner or later that $9k purchase is likely to become a very expensive lot decoration. Go down to the grey market forum or the Yanmar forum and ask around. Ask youreself why the VAST majority of established dealers in the grey market do not handle those brands. Good luck, however you go.

Rustydog,

Have read your other posts and curious about the dealer in southern CA. Does he not have Yanmar, or has he exhausted his supply? Was there a reason that this tractor was not any consideration or ruled out of contention?

I would broaden my search to include the dealer in your concerns as a priority, a Yanmar tractor in finalizing choices, and matching the model to your property and future needs,

If LMTC and other rock-solid honest, well established tractor suppliers are too far away, there are others north of you.

Your budget will buy allot of tractor (Yanmar) and very near 100% parts and dealer support.

Good luck in choosing and regards, Mark

BTW, The worst, ugly and abused Yanmar I have ever owned was just GOOD.

We've had good luck getting Iseki parts. Some through Bolens, some through White and some through Iseki (Rainbow) in Hawaii. Of course Len Schaefer is one of the best resources and probably the first guy to go to. There are more Yanmar's over here and parts are even easier, but I wouldn't shy away from a nice Iseki.

I don't know where you live, but in my area those do not exist. I'd have to pick "none of the above" based upon the guaranteed problem in my area of getting any of them worked on and getting parts.

As mentioned, having a place to get replacement parts is a big factor in deciding which tractor to purchase.

The Iseki tractor probably has an equivalent in the Agco, Massy-Furgeson or Cat Challenger. If you can find the right cross-reference, parts availability gets much easier.

I have a Cat Challenger which is basically an Iseki tractor. The loader and other attachments seem to be Rhino products but are branded as Challenger products. The Massey-Furgeson equivalents are identical except for the paint color. Pieces and parts are easy to get.

Lou_B, hopefully you didn't take my post as a slam on the quality of those tractors. I did not intend that at all. Where I live I have unfortunately at times purchased a "no name" (at least for my area) unit only to find out that nobody will work on it, nor were they willing to try to do any cross reference for me. I personally do not have the time or patience to do their work for them on finding the parts, and then beg them to work on my tractor. That's all. I've been burned before on that situation.

I'd even go as far as coming up with the conspiracy theory that many of the "big" manufacturers like that situation. It takes people like me out of the market for the relatively unknown makes and models. I'm not saying that they created that situation, but I'm sure they don't mind it. It likely cost the "big" companies millions of dollars and a lot of work to get to their position. I'd suppose that they wouldn't mind any competitor trying to break into their market share to have to go through the same costs and clear the same hurdles.

Do a search for them three tractors on Google. Everything you get is in some other language. The tractors are good but I would sure be concerned about parts. As Lou_B said there is equivalents out there so parts should not be a concern. But finding the dealer that will cross the parts sometimes can be hard to find. If the Cat is the Iseki tractor then go get the Cat as the Cat dealer in your area may not want to cross over parts. Me personally, I would not do it. You know, Murphy's law. I would be one the could not get a part and have a expensive tractor sitting in my yard with my wife telling me, "see I told you so" /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I don't know if the prices you are quoting are for new or used but they seem low for new.

Just my 2 pennies worth.
