ISO PTO driven hydraulic power unit plans?

I知 looking to run a few skid steer implements from the front end loader of my tractor. I do have rear remotes, but there not designed to run this type of equipment. So, does anyone have plans for a 3 point hitch PTO driven Hydraulic Power Pack/unit. Building it I can do that痴 the simple part, but figuring out what motor, relief values, etc etc to use is the hard part for me. If someone has the plans or parts lost I can put it together easily. The implements will need somewhere in the range of 30GPM. My tractor is 60hp and about 52hp at the PTO. Any information to help me put this together? Thanks

Skid steers are basically huge (relative) pumps on tracks or wheels. They were born for pumping. The CUT, even at 60hp was not. The power, cooling etc needed to make 30GPM off the PTO is a frequent request here. But I’ve never seen anyone take photos or video of their lash up and say “yep this works good.” I think Land Pride makes a unit or two. I’m not sure the specs. That would be a place to start. But you may be better off parlaying your machine and time and money you would spend on this project into a skid steer- after all, that’s the type of implements you are trying to run.

With 50 HP you can generate approx. 30 GPM @ 2,500 PSI. Depending on what implements you are trying to run and under what ambient conditions a heat exchanger may be required. The type of implements will also dictate the type of valves required. I.e. do you require ability to flow in both directions to reverse and implement, etc.?

Not sure if anyone can provide a complete parts list required without knowing what your requirements are.

At least one member on this site purchased a power pack for his snow blower and he seems happy with its performance. Don't remember his name though.

Converting an old 5’ bush hog to run on the FEl. & would also like to run a small mulching head attachment like you see on skid steers. Will only be for personal & some hired work. Planning on getting a used mulching head if I can figure all the stuff out with power pack.

True, very well may be cheaper to get a old high flow skid steer and mulching head.

As you can see from the numbers it takes 50hp in a lab to make 30gpm. Your “60hp” machine makes 60hp in the lab at the flywheel......start deducting for alternator, fan, drivetrain etc and you can see why the PTO is rated at 52hp. If you are using 50hp to run the pump you have 2hp left to move the machine, steer etc.......in a lab! I’m just not seeing good results here.
