2012 John Deere 5093E
I bought a 2012 5093E with 64 hours on it..I'm not real happy with it..In shop twice for a.c. issues, in my opinion it smokes more than I think it should, the aluminum hydraulics lines get hotter than I think they should, there is a little vibrating sound in the shifter when operating that is very annoying and when I stand behind the tractor I hear a slight rattle coming from the hydraulics..I'd like to hear from others who have a similar model..Pros and cons...

This doesn't answer any of your questions, but. I know that you purchased this tractor used, but it seems like it should still be under the factory warranty, is it not? I would get it to the dealer before time runs out if it hasn't already. Let them know of your concerns and see what happens. One of those things of you don't know for sure without asking.

Good luck.

It's at the dealer now..Fortunately the John Deere dealer in Marshall, TX. is all I could ask them to be...I'm very anxious to get it back...

Can you explain more about your issues? Like how much does it smoke and is it all the time? What about noise in rear and hydraulic lines running to what and what are you doing when they get hot? Noise in shifter should be a simple fix.

Great, please let us know how everything turns out.

Went to Dealer..Tractor is ready..A.C. needed new clutch fan...First time it needed a new expansion valve..Two days after that repair the compressor would not come on..Service manager agreed it smokes a lot but said injector timing was within specs and that was the only thing adjustable regarding the smoke..It smokes any time the throttle is increased even sitting parked with no load on engine..In fact if you look really hard you can see smoke at idle even with no acceleration..My Kubota has never smoked even when working..Service manager said hydraulic fluid temp will range between 180F and 190F and that is to be expected..I had noticed the lines were too hot to hold after I had been mowing with a 10' 3pt mower for a couple of hours.. Again my Kubota has never seen hydraulic temperature anywhere near that..The shifter rattle turns out is a well know issue that was an easy fix.. This on a tractor with less than 90 hours..I'm going to look at a new Kubota M9960 tomorrow..

For some reason in the E series the hydraulics run really hot. Not sure why, but they do.

Don't know if it is the same in the M series.

That's what I'm finding out..I saw a mowing crew on the side of the highway today and noticed one of the machines was a 5085E..I stopped and talked to the operator/owner..He had 1700 hours on the machine that are as torturous as any tractor use can be..It runs 12 hours a day seven days a week.. Tractor has never been in the shop and when I felt of the aluminum hydraulic lines they were pretty darned hot..
