Well, I am now the proud owner of a DK45S! Thanks to everyone for all your responses to my questions...I'm sure I will have more as this is my first tractor. Now I just have to wait three days for delivery. Looks like I may not hunt all day Saturday on the opening day of the season!

Congrats and Welcome to the Pack! It's tough not heading out on opening day for that first early morning hunt but not nearly as tough as that tractor.

You picked a doosie for a first tractor. Darn pretty too! Please give it respect, as it a powerful machine. And don't get lazy with the seat belt. Believe me, **** happens.....and fast too.

Iffen you drive around the property with the new tractor, and a properly secured and unloaded rifle , you'll find ample opportunity to get some easy shots at the gawking deer or two...or seven. Not that I would ever do that or anything......because skidders are far better - they draw 'em in from miles around.....

I just noticed you are over in Maine. What dealer are you going through? My dealer is Batchelder's in Lebanon, ME and they have been great.

I bought it through Whitemore and Sons in Skowhegan. They were great and very close (~7 miles).

Thanks. I will be sure to take it easy on the hills (they are steep). Since it is "hunter orange" I may have to try that out.

Take the time while waiting on delivery to read the owners manual cover to cover. Do the proper break-in. Keep tract of all/any service on the tractor.

yeah...I have started to read it...The manual is very entertaining. I hope the quality of the translation from Korean to English is not representative of the quality of the machine. I will set up a tracking sheet for all maintenance. The tractor comes with a brush guard but I may adapt the safety screen from my old pickup headache rack to provide more protection.
