How, you may ask, do I know it snowed in Tazewell Friday? Bubenberg and I were there, is how. We left Arnold Maryland at 5:00 AM, arrived Tazewell after a liesurely and circuitous drive, about 1:00. We tested (and immediately bought) a post pounder for my 1845. Hans waited patiently (Right - "Hans" and "patiently" do not belong in the same sentence.) out in the rain/snow for a demo of a power rake. The brake on the test 422 broke, however, and he never got to test it. Bad trip for Hans. He did get a new auger tip for his worn 12" -- and a POWER TRAC HAT
We got back to my place in Maryland about 11:00 PM.
The post pounder works great. Now all I have to do is figure out how to hang it somewhere. It is tall and heavy, and does not stand alone. I may even be able to get one of my sons to help with the next fence project. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I can just see you both on the drive out to Tazewell. Like to kids in a candy store with 5 cents each.
One of these days I am going to join you guys out there just to watch the fun.

Better leave your credit card home. Last time I tried that it cost me the price of a mini hoe. Impatient Hans seems to be the only one who can visit Tazewell and not bring home a souvenir.:p

If I would have know that Charlie you could have picked up the mini-hoe and bucket with teeth for my 422. I picked them up last week at PJAX's terminal in Elkridge. Mini-hoe works great and glad I didn't just add the teeth to my large bucket, the one I bought looks better for digging. I hauled my 422 out of Tazewell on a short bed GMC, mower, bucket and forks. I know I would be ok when the VA troopers passed without blinking...the mower looked great hanging out there in mid air. That was just the beginning of having fun with the PT. Dan in Lisbon

Welcome aboard the pt forum and congratulations on your purchase. I sure would have liked to have seen your power track and attachments on a short bed pickup, that must have been quite crowded.

Outridder:
I probably had room for the hoe. The pounder has some weight to it, but fit within the pickup bed - 8'
Welcome to the forum. Post your experiences with the new machine.

I take a few days off and you guys take a trip to the land of fun! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

You get a post pounder and Hans is getting an 1845 later? Cool! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I doubt my wife will let me near the place. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hans got a look at a completely disassembled 1845 that they took in trade on a new one. The owner had ruined the engine by running with a broken air cleaner. It is the used one on the website. Hans is busy trying to figure out how to afford it.
(He doesn't have a wife currently, so maybe he can work it out.)

Charlie_Iliff,

Would you mind elaborating on the “broken Air Cleaner”? What was broken?
