I just pulled the 2LA490 Intermotor (Lombardini) from my Goldoni. I've got to get the garden growing, so I'm going to order a replacement. The thing is that I see that for the Italian motor shafts-- they are all a 1:5 taper, just one type is called 23mm and with an internal thread on the end to accept a screw and the other (which I have) is called 24mm and ends with a 16mm external thread to accept a nut to hold on the clutch disks.
It seems like, given that they're tapers, that if one taper starts 1mm larger than the other, that they should pretty much interchange, and the difference would just be in adjustments on the bowden cable for the clutch.

I've got another Goldoni with an LD510, which I think has the internal type threads. I could pull it to see, but I'd just as soon not have to go to the trouble, if someone knows whether these minor details matter on the Italian motor shafts.

The reason I ask, is because I see the first type with internal threads available on a lot of other brands of gas engines here in Czech/Slovakia, but the external thread version I just see one company in Italy selling a Kohler motor with.

Hello Freedom lives,

did you check with the Hatz engine dealer for an equivalent unit?
