Oh really? So you’re saying that a transmission, rear axle, brakes can’t limit towing capacity????
You telling me a 300HP tandem axle truck won’t tow more than a 400HP pickup?

That’s not what I was told.
I was told the allison 1000, in its current design, was limited to a GCWR of 40,000 by a very good GM man.

“When you compare the Aisin vs. Allison transmission, it’s easy to see that while both offer similar gears and sizing, the Aisin shines when it comes to towing power.“

What’s the GCVW of those trucks? I was turned off enough at the GVW to stop looking. But the OP isn’t looking for a medium duty anyway. I think we can all agree that either transmission holds up just fine in a 3500.

It was 37,000 in 2020.
Agree, I’d take either transmission but when he started throwing rocks at Aisin transmissions and stating falsehoods, I had to correct the record. There’s just so much false information out there.
