It's Been A Long Wait

I liked the 4115 when they came out years ago but one for me just wasn't in the cards. When the 2520 came out I liked it better but still, it wasn't going to happen. Now the 2720 has been out for about 4 years and I finally got one! It came with a Cozy cab, 62D deck, 200CX loader & 54" bucket, 54" snow blower, 58" tiller from Land Pride and 42" Artillian pallet forks.

I am anxious to start learning how it all works. The dealer has my old 2305 by the front door of the store just waiting for a new owner. It felt rather odd to leave it there, I have had it for nearly 7 years. It was the first one that I kept for more than a year since the first one in 1989.

Yep, this is number 18. I started out with a 318 but I'm not counting the one in '88. It was the kind that I had to stand up on my own feet and chase it - self propelled.

The employee discount used to be substantial up until the late '90's and dealers loved getting low hour mowers still under warranty for a trade-in.

You will love those forks! I have the Artillian forks on my 200CX and 2520 - they've helped me get a ton of work done!

+100 on that. I have the 53" bucket and the forks w/ 42" tines. I took the bucket out two days ago for the first time in probably six months - it was actually buried at the back of my garage and it took me 20 minutes to get it out! I've gotten reasonably adept at finessing them to do things like pluck logs off a pile to drop them down and cut them up for firewood as well as picking logs off of the trailer to go stack for seasoning.

A good share of my working life was with some type of fork lift so it just seams natural that I should have a set of forks for around the house. I had a chance to use them the day the tractor was delivered to unload the tiller and snowblower.

Personally, I love them. And the fact that they're reasonably lightweight means that I can lift more "stuff" and less "attachment". They don't turn my CUT into a forklift, but they sure do go a long way in that direction compared to the alternatives. And if you ever have a question or issue with those forks, Chris (owner of Artillian) is a great guy to work with.

I was driving around today and picked up 4 small rocks and put them in the bucket of the new loader, drove over to my rock pile, and with out hesitation I climbed out of the cab and threw the rocks out of the bucket by hand.

I need to practice up a bit, I'm pretty sure there is an easier way to get rocks out of the bucket.

Yep... There is...

Back way up, floor it, then jam on the brakes about 5' in front of the pile where you want the stuff to land.
