It\'s confirmed! Front mount blower is way to go!

Now that we have had some cold and snow I can confirm that my new (to me anyway) front mount blower for my B2710 is the way to go for moving snow! We have been getting snow every night for the past week (about 4"-8"at a time) and the blower works effortlessly! Last season we had over 150" of snow and I used a rear mount 60" Lucknow blower. It worked great, but was a pain in the neck to be backing up all the time. Its not bad when you have just the driveway to do, but when doing the ice rink (145' X 90') you get a tad stiff sitting sideways and looking back the whole time. Plus the front loader would hit the banks when you would try to do the curved corners. It seems that I can go faster with the front blower and having a cutting edge on the blower helps out big time!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif The rear blower just sat on a flat part of heavy angle iron on the bottom, and did not have down pressure like the front blower has. Now if it would just warm up into the 20's or so. Last night it was -17F and its about 2F right now! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif It gets a little nippy at these temps to skate for very long!

Re: It\'s confirmed! Front mount blower is way to go!

You're preaching to the choir. I wholeheartedly agree. The ability to apply downpressure is a plus. Where snow gets packed from vehicles driving on fresh snow used to be a pain. Now I just lift the shoes and scrape it down to asphalt. The only downside of front blowers is the cost. Attached is a pic of my JD2210 with the 47" blower and Worksaver spreader full of sand.

Now the blade guys will be all over us.
