I've been gone a while - Gary in Indiana

I've been away from TBN for quite a while. I'm hoping that's at an end now. I was involved in a rather bad accident something over a year ago. I was riding one of my motorcycles and was hit by an SUV that ran a red light. I was laid up for quite a while after that. When I got to the point of trying to log back on here I wasn't able to so do for whatever reason. As I wasn't able to do anything with my tractor anyhow, I didn't worry too much about it, though I certainly missed the friendships here.

I'm only now getting back to the point of being able to do any real work and wanted to look up something on a post I'd bookmarked and found I could log on again so I'm hoping to take advantage of this wonderful resource once again. I just wanted to take a moment and tell everyone why I hadn't been here in so long. Have a great day, everyone!

Glad your mending from the mishapes...yeah it bites when one can't do the simple things for long while,for I had my first m/c mishapes this year.

You better purchase some lantern oil,for you got a lot of reading to catch upon.

Hi Gary,
It is good to hear you are up and around again; I hope your recoup progresses well.

I really like my bike, but don't ride as much these days. A few years ago, I got rear ended whil commuting in my truck; if I had been on my bike it would have been over for me.

Glad to hear your pretty much all mended up ! I used to ride all the time and now I occassionally take my youngest sons Harley for a spin but usually not very far. It seems Im always waiting for someone to pull out in front of me I guess Ive kinda lost my nerve ! Much more stopping time on a tractor !

A m/c accident almost ended my wifes life as well, rear ended while doing 70 down the freeway.

It will get better with time I promise.

Thanks, Rob. I've got a lot of 'catch up' to do for sure. I'd thought I'd be in my new house by now. I'm living in town and a lot of the work I did out there has gone backwards over the past two summers now. I'm hoping to really hit it hard again come spring. I may well take you up on your offer then. Hopefully I'll be in better shape to do something myself by then, too.

Right now I'm sitting here all worn out just from answering the door for the Trick-Or-Treaters. I know I could have just left the porch light off, but that's not me. Besides, I really enjoy seeing all the kids and the exercise is good for me (though I never thought I'd ever talk about getting out of a chair and walking 5 steps "exercise."
