J. D. 345 Engine rebuild parts

I.m looking for parts for a 345 J.D. engine rebuild. I understand that it has a Kawasaki engine and thought that the parts would be cheaper from them than from John Deere. The cam broke and I need several parts besides for a complete repair. Does anyone have experience in doing this repair job? I also need to know where to order parts at a "reasonable" price. HELP. You could probably find a used LC 20 horse for a 345 online for a reasonable price, and save time from tearing the engine you have apart and replacing a number of parts....

Thanks, Jeff. We have checked into that but because my son is an excellent mechanic we'll continue with the rebuild. We do need the cross reference numbers from a J.D. 345 engine parts numbers to a Kawasaki 345 parts numbers. Do you know a site where these cross over numbers are available? Thanks, HarryV

Do you have a local dealer? If you do I would go and ask them, if they dont have any books on Kawasaki's I bet they could get the numbers somehow.

Yea we do have a local dealer. I'll check with them tomorrow. My son was there and all he got were the J.D. parts numbers. So I'll check on the Kawasaki numbers. Thanks, HarryV

You can call them by telephone, toll free or use their parts diagrams to locate the parts you need. They keep you informed on parts status after the order has been placed. They also provide shipper status checker information so you can check on the status of your shipment. AND YES they do have parts for John Deere lawn mower engines.I would recommend you call the toll free number on the top right of the Web Page.
