Give me some input;

X 340 or X500
Both w/54 mulching kit
w/rebate only $800. difference
Use will be used about 50hrs year for grass cutting only.
Wife driven, must be tough unit
I will and do maintain all equipment

For $800 what I'm I getting for that increase

For $800 you are getting larger tires, better seat, and much heavier running gear which means things like steering components will last much longer, and you will be able to tow wagons, etc. Do you get power steering...... don't remember if it comes on the 500,or not. You are getting a garden tractor instead of a lawn tractor, and that makes a huge difference in how long it will last. It will also be a lot more comfortable to operate, and your wife will thank you for that!

The heavier running gear is important to me.
The creature comforts will be an added benifite for the wife.
As for the wife thanking me, well I'm bedding on it...I mean betting on it.

neither one has power steering, the x360 has and the x540 has. for the $800 yes it's worth it.
