Do any of you out there know exactly where in Japan Mitsubishi Heavy Industries makes Mahindras (used to be Cub Cadets)? How has the supply chain been effected by the situation over there? Spare parts? What if you had to replace your hyd pump? (most Mitsubishi pumps are not rebuild-able).

Personally, I'm thinking about stocking up on key components/consumables/filters/belts etc.
Why hang on to cash when they keep printing more and more?!?!? I'd rather have tractors and adequate spares/fuel/oil/etc.

Do you have what you need to run your tractor for the next 10 yrs?

How will the Japan disaster effect Mahindra parts over the medium/long term?

The plant is a long ways from the disaster area. I've been there. We are not seeing any problems with supplies as of yet, and hope not to. I wouldn't worry.

Thanks Dave.

What city in Japan is the plant that you visited?

Is it upwind or downwind of the nuke meltdown?
If I recall correctly, summer winds and winter winds
are two different directions in Japan.

I don't remember the city off hand, but it was in Shimane Perfecture, which is a long ways away. Mitsu headquarters in Tokyo rocked and rolled, but they were fine as well. Look at a map and find the Miyagi Perfecture and you will see the distance, some 500 air miles or so and on the opposite end, and opposite side of the island.

We had such a nice visit. We went to the plant, spent time in Kyoto, road the Bullet Train (Shinkansen), had dinner on Tokyo Bay. Quite a trip, and we thank Mitsubishi and Mahindra for the chance to go.
