I never really connected that "J.B. Hunt" was an actual person and not just a trade name for a trucking company. However, he must of been a very successful businessman because I see his trucks all the time on the interstate here in Virginia.
Mr. Hunt was a great man. I had the pleasure to meet him on a few occasions and was honored to have done so. He was a generous man who was a brilliant businessman.
He was injured on Sat. I believe it was and passed away today. He will be missed by all those who knew him I am sure.
I meet him several years ago when my father-inlaw was flying for Walmart and Tyson Foods. The man carried around a couple thousands dollars in $100 bills all the time. If he saw a hungry man or women, he would give them $100
Springdale just lost a very giving man. He will be missed.
I know that for my wife and I, it was a real pleasure having some time to talk to him at one of Montana's functions. It was very clear to me that his part ownership of Montana was something that he really enjoyed, and not just a "business" decision. He was very excited with where Montana was able to get in such a short time period but didn't take a bit of credit for it.
Mr. Hunt was 79 and was very intelligent. He was very good at planning so I am sure he had affairs in order. He was not the only partner in the business but the most recognizable. I have spent time with each owner over the last few years and they are all very good businessmen.
