Bought this baby last year and have an annoying issue that I can't find an answer to. My front loader is constantly tipping forward even if there is no load. I can understand if it stops once level but it will rotate all the way "forward" or in the dumping position if I let it. Like I said, it will do this even when empty. Is there a problem with the hydrolics? There are no other issues with the loader. Suggestions anyone?

There is an acceptable amount of drift on these loaders. Is typically enough that a loader left up a little bit over night may be on the ground. If it is substantially faster then there is an issue with the cyl or valve leaking past. Better hurry isnt the loader warranty only a year? Sounds like you are referring to the bucket cylinder. Take a marker and mark the cylinder so that you can see how much movement in a given period of time to tell your dealer.

I re-read your post and maybe dont completly understand. If you are on the ground will the bucket try to lift the tractor or are you just referring to gravity doing its damage.

A little more info as to what is happening.
And is it the bucket?
Problem when tractor is running, or just when not?

Might try resetting the hyd. couplings to the FEL. Sometimes they don't seat properly.

I've had my 1023E just shy of a year and can assure you it is not supposed to do that. No problems with my loader, it sounds like you have a hydraulic problem. Get it back to the dealer before the end of the 1 year warranty!

Thanks everyone. Just to clarify some of the questions that came up. Its gravity doing the work on the bucket itself. The arms are not moving and it will stop once it hits the ground thus not lifting the tractor. I'm going to try to take a look at it this weekend but it's supposed to be a rainout here in the mitten. My garage is pretty small so not much room to work when JD is in the garage. I'm also going to look up the warranty information.
I don't remember it doing this when I first got it.
Will let you all know.

Just got off the phone with my dealer and he says that there is a 2 year warranty on the loader. The only thing is that they are going to charge me $100 to pick it up since I don't have a trailer large enough to transport it myself. Ugh... Think I'm going to see if there's anything else I can to do resolve the issue myself before I pay that.

Swap the hoses for the bucket (that's what is drifting down? Correct?) with the hoses for the boom.
The bucket hoses are marked black and yellow with zip ties. The boom hoses are marked blue and red.

Now your joy stick will not be right, but you can test to see if the bucket holds. If the problem is now with your boom you know it's in the valve. If the bucket still drifts down you know the problem is with the bucket cylinders.
