MY NEW UNIT IS LEAVING SKID MARKS ON BLACKTOP DRIVEWAYS. HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED AND/ OR TRIED SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO ELIMINATE OR SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?

James,
I lined the skids with high density plastic. Shaped them to match the skids, are 1/2" thick x 2 1/2" wide x 6" long. They slide easy on black top driveway and no marks.

THANKS FOR YOUR POST. WAS THIS A D-I-Y JOB AS I AM NOT FAMILIAR WORKING WITH PLASTICS? DID YOU JUST COAT THE EXISTING SKIDS OR... USE THEM AS A MOLD TO MAKE AN ALL PLASTIC SKID? ARE THE PRODUCTS YOU USED AVALIABLE IN A HARDWARE STORE OR BUILDING CENTER?

Did you ever get a solution? I was thinking to call Robalon to see if they have a replacement for the metal feet. I want to avoid a cramping the driveway , it was just paved and cost big bucks.....

I have the 1025r with 47" snowblower .....

JUST ONE REPLY SO FAR - HOPING TO GET MORE INFO FROM A MEMBER THAT USED HIGH-DENSITY PLASTIC. I HAD A 42" BLOWER ON A GT 235 TRACTOR AND IT DID NOT LEAVE MARKS - THOUGH IT PROBABLY WEIGHED 1/2 OF THIS BLOWER. NOT SURE IF WIDER SKIDS WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM OR NOT

Jame's, he said that he ''Lined the skids''. I suspect that he attach the ''high density plastic'' underneath the shoes. Oh, and you might want to remove your ''Caps lock''. I have to turn down the volume every-time I read you, as caps is often use as screaming. lol No seriously it doesn't bother me.

I purchased 2 pieces 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 6" from TAP Plastics
I then formed them with a propane torch to curve matching skids.
Then drilled two holes matching the skids and c- bored to set screws well below surface of plastic.
Now going on second year of use and almost as much life left as when I installed them.

Thanks for the information. May I ask which plastic you chose from their web site. I was thinking of choosing the DELRIN, but thought I would check which type is working for you. thanks again for your help

Delrin is a slick material but real soft, not a good choice. I ordered Polyethylene Sheets - HyPact® UHMW.
