I recently developed an issue with my 1050's lift. The arms hadn't been used in about a month, has been hooked to the feed mill. I went to use the spreader this week and now It will either go all way up or all the way down, doesn't have an in between so to speak. . The lever doesn't seem to have much control on where the arms stop. If I keep working with the lever I can get it to stop halfway up but then it wants to drift. I haven't touched any of the draft adjustments, they are where they have always been. Any ideas on where/what to check?

I'm wondering if the draft adjustments are sticking. With the tractor shut off try and work the levers back and forth while spraying liberally with a penetrating oil. That should wash the rust out of the levers where they go into the housings.

Also your feedback linkage might be hanking up, spray or oil good.

Checked over the linkages, seem to be OK. I'm thinking I have an issue inside of the rockshaft control. Talked to my parts guy, none of the internal parts\valves of the housing are available from Deere anymore

Welcome fellow Georgian! I have a PDF of the Deere Tech manual you're more than welcome to. You might find more to check there.
If wanted shoot me your email.

Often jd some parts are interchangeable from other tractors. Have the parts guy check the 990 and see if you can use some parts from it. I ran into a similar problem with my 750. Seems a part from the 318 garden tractor also fit the spool valve spring of a 750. Had a real experienced parts guy save my butt from spending $700 for a new scv control instead of the $4.38 I eventually spent for the fix. The JD parts book even stated "non replaceable"
At any rate, raise the 3 pt all the way up and shut off the flow control under the seat. If it goes down, you have a blown piston seal. If it doesn't, then you have a valve problem.

OK I will try that and see what happens, and if need be I will definitely see if I can interchange it with another series.
