I went to look at a used 110 today. While going over the hydraulics, I had to question a noise that was present. This 110 has the AUX hydraulics front and rear. The two solenoid rocker switches below the joystick. One with (l O) and one with (A B). When I switch the (l O) to (l) a noise like it is in relief is heard. Is this normal or is there something wrong?

Just a guess but if the hoe was on the tractor it may be that the rear circuits won't work. Normally when using the rear outlets the hoe is out of the power beyond loop.
If you are interested in the tractor I can check mine out in the morning early and let you know.

I think that noise is the relief.

Typically it happens when I activate the AUX hydraulics and am inadvertently pushing one of the thumb switches on the joystick. This is fairly easy for me to do, but the noise warns me to "quit that!".

Yes, I am interested in the tractor. The hoe attachment was not on it when I looked at it. The top-n-tilt 3pt was on. On the joystick there were five buttons. What does the fifth one do that is most forward?

Mine has three buttons, the button in the most forward position is a momentary switch which swaps the diverter setting from forward control to rearward control of the three valves. The rear two buttons which are vertically stacked control the third valve and this is duplicated by the AB switch mounted on the lower console (outboard).

The inboard mounted switch closest to the seat I/O turns on the auxillary hydraulic circuits which allow you to operate the diverter. When this switch is on a diagram on the dash should light up too showing whether you are in either front control or rear control of the three hydraulic circuits. Pressing the most forward button on the joystick should cause the indicator on the dash to switch from front to rear control display. This will swap back and forth everytime you push the button.


I haven't seen any of these with five buttons on the fel control lever, only three. Maybe the last two buttons you are referring to control an ejection seat or tail rotor.:confused2::laughing:

Went outside and checked the operation and would suggest you determine whether the AB switch is in the middle position, it will hold either A or B for continuous operation. This would easily cause the problem you were having.

I did note that the front and rear hydraulics are both available regardless of whether or not the hoe is hooked up, so it is possible to have use of the three rear outlets with the hoe on the tractor. Don't have any need for them though.

Thanks for the help. I assume I heard the relief then if the AB toggle was in the center position, I don't remember the position. What happens if the seller used it like that?

Anyone know what the cost is of the factory skid plate(s) for underneath? There are a lot of hydraulic tubes under there.

Oh, and I have to look again at the 5 buttons on the joystick. I assume I was mistaken.

I bought mine new in 2005 with all the extra hydraulics, skidplate and rear cylinder guards etc. Dont remember the cost of the skidplate but it is well worth it, there is a lot to be damaged if you dont have it I would order one.
