JD 110 TLB
I have just found this site and it looks great. I saw a recent post about 110s with temp gague problems (mine seems to register OK so far) and wanted to find out what other issues 110 owners have run into so I know what else to watch out for?

I myself just had the hydraulic steering cylinder plunger arm bend over the weekend. The crazy thing was I was just doing some lite loader work for a friend. Never ran over anything, nothing could have gotten up under there to jam it, no strain detected while I was steering it earlier, then all the sudden I just couldn't turn right. Got off to look at what was going on, and the cylinder arm was just bent. Anyone else have anything like this happen?

This is a relatively new machine with less than 70 hrs. It has worked great up to this point. The Dealer doesn't have the part in stock as he hadn't had this happen before. They are having it shipped in, should be back up in a couple days.

No significant problems with my beast. One hose on the 4n1 bucket which JD replaced. That it's. I will be hoggin next week around the house. Light duty stuff. Putting on the 3ph is a bit of a pain, but worth it. My other option is using a sickle! I have 125 hours on mine. I will be putting a thumb on the hoe later this summer. By the way. Tags where the h--- are you? I liked to know how you and the 110 are getting along. Joe

OkieG... thank you for the link, that was quite a read.

JoeReal... let us know how you like the thumb option when you get it.

Tags... I read you have a Cab, how are you liking it? Did you get the A/C option, if not how's the ventaliation handled in the summer? Does it get too hot with the hydraulic heat and outside air temp combined?

All... any secrets when taking off the hoe and pulling the top pins? I took me almost an hour of fiddling, adjusting, banging, etc. to find a sweet spot that took off enough pressure to pull them out. The tires are in the way to bang them out and I started to bend the handles with the sledge. Maybe some grease or oil on them would help, but very frustrating.

I have the thumb, and it is great. I do alot of stone moving which would be impossible without it. I do not think it is necessary to beat the pins which attach the hoe. If you push the bucket down on the ground the pins come out with ease. Beating sounds self defeating. It takes me a bout five minutes to attach or remove the hoe. Longer to attach 3pt.

I noticed when rotary cutting with my 110, the hydraulic oil gague goes all the way to the yellow mark after about an hour and half of use. I don't think this should be happening since this field gets cut every year. I have a six foot cutter and I think the tractor should handle it just fine without being overworked.
In the past I had someone cut the same field with a Kubota with less power using a 6 foot cutter then the 110. I got a little nervous about it so I shut it down for a while.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? I haven't talked to the dealer yet. By the way never any problems removing or installing the backhoe. Installing the 3ph is a bit of a pain but worth it.

My guage didn't move all winter, and I thought there was a problem because Tags said his always registered. Mine takes a while to show, and Tags said his was replaced.
