JD 110TLB tranny temp

I bought a 2004 JD 110 last week and after running it for 3-4 hours doing back and forth loader work the tranny temp gauge did not move. It is still in the 40's here so it is cold, but I assume the gauge should move after a short time of running it. Since the tractor is new to me I just wanted to know how other 110's or hydros are running out there?

The dealer I bought it from told me that when it is cold sometimes the trannies don't heat up, of which I am calling BS.

Don't worry... Be Happy! If you want it to run hot - you could always build a campfire under it!

Mine runs cool all the time - summer, fall, spring, winter. I've got cardboard over both radiators right now; the tranny radiator in front and right behind it the engine radiator. The tranny temp hardly moves more than a 1/3" on the guage and the engine gauge maybe a half inch.

I like that... cooler is better for engines and transmissions.

Those 110tlbs hydrualics run nice and cool , you will most likely never see the gauge move. You could run that thing hard in death valley on the hotest day and it mite go in the green . no worries!

My gauge moves up a bit when we get some of our 100 degree days, but in the winter it doesn't move.

I have had mine since November and haven't noticed such a gauge existed yet...

Thank you for the replies, I would have never thought it would run that cold. I am still intrigued; maybe I'll run it up and down the road in "C" range to see if I can get the gauge to move.

MA is Massachusetts; not quite as far North as Maine, but far enough for me. If anyone knows the area, I live about 5 minutes from Yankee Candle. Lately it has been around 40-50 during the day so it has been getting better, just a little bit of snow left.
