I'm having problems with my 1989 JD 185 Hydro. Here's the symptoms:
Starting Problems:
-The only way to start it is to pull the throttle/chock on full and let it turn over 30 or so times until it floods
-Then put the throttle down to a dead idle and it will sometimes then start at a dead idle.
-Then I have to work the throttle up SLOWLY until it gets to operating speed.
-If I move the throttle even a tiny bit to fast it dies out and I have to go through the starting steps again.
-Once up to operating RPM it runs great and can be worked in tall grass or with the blower on with no issues
Things done:
-I have taken apart the carb and cleaned it with carb cleaner and compressed air. It was very clean already and doing so didn't change anything.
-I've checked the spark and it appears blue and healthy
-Compression is fine
Suggestions?
Common issues with these tractors that gave the same result?
