JD 2020 with 48 loader -- another loader creeping question

Hoping TX Jim weighs in on this one.

I have a 1970 JD 2020 Gas with a 48 front end loader. The loader does not have its own stand alone valve. The lift cylinder creeps up, the tilt cylinder does not. I have read a lot of other threads and sounds like I need to replace a hydraulic valve...but since the loader does not have its own valve, does that mean i could put a rebuild kit in the tractor selective control valve?

It is a later build tractor, I think the valve design changed from the earlier years.

More than likely 1 or more of the 4 poppet valves is not seating correctly. To R&R & properly adjust these poppet valves requires some finesse & prior experience helps. Valve clearances must be adjusted with a dial indicator in several thousandths of an inch. I know of a technician in Ohio that renews a lot of these type JD hyd control valves. He built a test stand so he can be sure the valve will operate correctly & not leak. He accepts shipped in valves for repair. I have his contact info if you need it.

IMHO JD hyd control valves are way too complicated just to control a hyd cylinder or steer frt wheels.

Another possibility would be to install an ind 2 spool valve to control FEL instead utilizing SCV.

Way back when I was a JD dealer service manager I had several grease monkey's so called mechanics under my supervision that could not repair JD hyd control valves the 1st or 2nd or sometimes more attempts.

Jim. I would like the contact info if you wouldn't mind. Rebuilding the valve is probably over my skills. This 2020 was my dad's first new tractor on the farm (bought it new in 1970) and I used it alot as a kid. He is gone now and I would really like to get it in good shape. Truth is that loader has been creeping up since the 80's and we just lived with it. Can you message me the contact info?
