- JD 2025R, previously Gravely 5650 & JD 4010 & JD 1025R
I recently looked at both the 2025R and B2301 Kubota. Attached is a comparison I made. The Kubota won hands down. Found out the 2025R does have a token cupholder; so score another for JD, but it's useless. I used the top part of the document holder and affixed it to the right side FEL tower.
I went with the JD simply because it would have been so much more hassle to go with the Kubota. Plus, the Kubota service is many more miles away, IF it had to go back there.
One reason I bought the JD was because it's an updated version of my old JD 4010 that required NO dealer service for 9 years. I like it so far, except for the sorry folding ROPS. My 4010 had a non folding ROPS that fit nicely underneath 5 doorways. That's the way they should be.
In the comparison, I rated the Kubota higher with lower hp because a machine this size doesn't need any more than about 20 hp. I'm a greenie.
Oh, I had a lemony 1025R for nearly 2 years after the driveline donut failed on my 4010. Too many warranty calls. I lost confidence in it, and the engine was a very rough one that idled at 1,650 rpm.
