I'm pulling some basic maintenance and clean up on my dad's 2240. It cranks easily, runs great, and pulls like a champ. However, the injector pump has a leak around the throttle control stem on the top of the pump.
My question is, how difficult is that to repair? I'm a fair mechanic but not a diesel mechanic and I hate trying to work on something with the wrong tools. The last thing I want to do is mess up a good working pump while trying to make what would seem to be a simple fix. I'm more than willing to drop it off at the local diesel pump shop if that's what it takes but I would like to do the work myself if possible.
Thanks!
