JD 235GT grass collection

My friend is moving and is selling me her 235GT lawn tractor for an excellent price. I've always used Gravely walk behinds, so I'm a little clueless when it comes to tractor attachments. What are my options for grass collection? I would like to collect as much as possible without having to dump. I've seen those rear mounted, double barrell collectors. Are they specific to the model tractor, or does one size fit all? Am I stuck with a Deere product, or are there good third party options?

Dont know much about grass collector for JD gt235(garden tractor).Even though I believe getting one that fits at a JD dealer should not be a problem.I can tell you I bought mine new.I now have way over 300 hrs,and could not be happier with mine.There are days I think it will out live me(Iam 52).:laughing:.I wrote a review on mine,check it out if you havent all ready.Boone

I believe that John Deere offers the two bag, three bag, and MC519 collection carts for your tractor. All use a blower that runs off a pulley on your mower deck. Aftermarket carts like agri fab, Trak-Vac, and Cyclone rake are also available but use an extra engine for the blower.

I have a GT275 that my dad bought about 15 years ago. It's been a great tractor. It has a cart that attaches to the back with the power flow attached to the deck. I think the cart holds 17cu ft. it has a soft top and when it is full you just turn around in the seat and release the cart dump and there is a lever on top that you flip up and dump it. We attached a big lever to the side of it that extends past the seat just to give my mom more leverage to dump. She is 66 and never has to get out of the seat and it holds a bunch of grass. I don't know what you have to do to dump the bag system.

Yes, that is the MC 519 collection system, and it holds 19 bushels of material. It's a nice set up.

Well then the MC 519 collection system has been pretty awesome. Mom would not have been able to do it without it and she really does like to be able to get out and cut the grass. I take care of the snow. But I now have something else to help her out.

Thank you all for the replies. It looks like its going to be expensive no matter what I do. I have a feeling I'll go with one of the tow behind collectors since I have a 54inch deck...

I went with the Cyclone tow behind unit. It is absolutely fantastic, and I'm very happy I bought it. I'm actually looking forward to autumn so I can really see this thing work...
