I am looking at a used John Deere 2440, 60 HP, approx 3000 hrs, good paint , 4 remotes, hard canopy and with 6 ft heavy duty Rhino Brush Hog unfortunately no FEL. Main usage of this tractor has been mowing & been barn kept. Not sure on the year as of yet but understand these were made from 76-82. Does anyone have any feedback on this JD make/model? Is 9,000 a fair price?
This will be my first tractor purchase. Will be using on 46 acs for mowing, putting out round bales, and other misc jobs. Will need to factor in the cost of adding a FEL to this JD. Not sure what that will run yet but Im told around 4,000. Any advice on adding a FEL to this tractor? What FEL will fit this 2440? Does it have to be JD?
