I'm having a problem with my john deere 24ws wire tie square baler it ties the bales but the wires are to loose and the bale isn't packed very tight and the bales don't look good i've adjusted the springs on the back of the bale chamber and it didn't do any good does anybody have any advice

I don't know about the 24 but our 336 has similar problems. We changed the resitor plates and hay dog springs due to they were not be holding the charge of hay good between strokes. Also we just added the angle plates (wedges) to the chamber and that has made a huge difference in how tight and well shaped the bales are.

You might consider removing all the hay out of the bale case and cleaning it out. Its common for mud, chaff, and other 'stuff' to plug up the hay side resistors in the case where the last flake is suppossed to be held. These ramps may be all rusted out and gone. Check the parts diagrams for the machine on John Deere . com.
