JD 316 20inch mower deck hangers

I have owned this rig for two years and have mowed without incident until last week when a clevise that holds the mover broke. It became obvious that the clevise should never be at an angle where it hit on the holding rod.I would like to know how the mower should be hung correctly. Gerald

Not exactly sure what your question is. But the hangers should drop down and be holding up the deck at the desired level for mowing or for carrying the deck.

Follow the mower height adjustment procedure in the manual.
i.e. raise the gauge wheels so they don't touch the ground, proper air in the tires, set the mower height at something like 2 1/2", adjust yoke (clevis) on each side by measuring blade tip height right and left side, adjust front bail so center mower blade tips are 1/4" lower in front, then lower the gauge wheels so they are near 1/2" off the ground.. good to go for mowing at 2 1/2" height.
