Jd 3520 Fuel Milage

Morning Folks
Curious how many hours people are getting on a tank of diesel fuel on their 3520 tractors.
I seem to be going thru a tank in about 3 hours of moderate use , any suggestions??

Wow, that seems terrible, you didn't say what type of work you are doing which would certainly impact your fuel consumption. My JD 3720 which has slightly more HP than yours easily makes 10+ hours on a tank. That is running a 6' RC at 540 PTO RPM in A (low) and half the time in 4WD.

Yea I figured it was pretty lousy, I'm just using the Fel and the 485 backhoe at around 2500 Rpm.
As usual the dealers response was "Oh that's normal" it's a 2010 model. Is there any additive that can be used to clean the fuel system??

By the way, I really baby this machine, had it since new, 1230hrs total time on it!!

I just looked at the specs and do you have a cab (11.8 gallons) or open station (13.5 gallons)? Even with the smaller tank you're burning almost 4GPH. Does your fuel tank hold the correct gallons when you fill it up? I have never actually tracked my fuel consumption but I do know it takes me about 5 hours to mow my place and I can get two mows from a full tank 13.5 gallons. Although just looking at the numbers burning 1.3 gallons per hour seems a little optimistic to me. Hopefully someone else will chime in. I treat my diesel with Power Service only because I store 100 gallons.

Are we talking US or Imperial gallons here?

It's an open station Canadian model, just filled it to the cap to see if the warmer weather makes any difference.

Great idea, pretty sure I replaced both prior to winter, however it gets so busy around here I may have overlooked it or put it on the todo list. Will check my records and the filters!!

Well just filled her up to the cap, managed to get 17 hrs on a full tank, maybe someone has been syphoning some fuel . Maybe I am just working to hard lol Time Flies when you're having Fun!!
