Could someone please tell me what the BCI number means regarding batteries. The operator's manual calls for 500 cold cranking amps at -18 deg C ( 0 F ). The battery salesman asked me to find out what BCI number is associated with the JD 3720 with cab to help me replace the cca 600 and 745 ca @ 32 deg f that is in this second hand machine. Thanks in advance.

BCI stands for Battery Council International

Your salesman was asking for the physical dimensions of the battery. It is usually just referred to as "group number" or group size.

According to JD parts, the 3720 uses a group 22NF battery.
I would get a sealed AGM battery.

Tractor Supply sells a 22NF battery that fits the 3720 perfectly
