2001 JD 4300
I have a snowplow for my 2001-jd4300 and I would like to hook up the angle rams to my tractor. It looks like it already has the 3rd valve installed except for the lever and the hoses. I can buy the kit from JD for about 350.00 but has anyone built thier own kit to hook up to the exsisting valve.

The kit from JD includes all the hardware, hard lines, fittings, hoses, brackets, couplers, ect. You will be hard pressed to beat the price, and if you do...it certainly will not look as good as the JD kit.

Just my .02¢

OH, and Welcome to TBN:D

Next big question how hard is it to install, it seems to me that you have to remove the rear tire and fender. I do have some mechanical abilities plus friends that are smart when it comes to these things.

The tire should definitely come off, not sure on the fender though...The install should be fairly straight forward.

Steviep,
I have been going through the same process. But I think my dealer told me none of these kits were available any longer except for the power beyond.
I have ordered it and it is waiting at the dealer for me to pickup.
I had wanted to add the 4th and 5th valve kit so I could use it for TNT. That kit is not available and does not even come up in JD's system any longer to check stock at other dealers.
I am headed toward just installing a 3way Prince valve externally into the PB similar to what Jim did but wanted to exhaust all options for a factory system first because it would be much cleaner.
Would you mind sharing which dealer you are talking to and I may try contacting them for my needs?
BTW, if you think you may ever want to have PB on the tractor, now would be the time to do it if you do install that 3rd valve. It would save you some labor that way. The PB kit runs about $300.
Good luck,

I don't know about yours but my 3rd valve allready has a plunger in it and two screw in plug offs. It looks two me that all it needs is some kind lever to activate the 3rd valve and a couple of hoses. has anyone else this out to. I had heard they weren't making this part anymore but I havn't tried the dealer yet. They just bought out the dealer I bought my tractor from so maybe they have some extra parts. My thing is if they can't get it , has anyone retrofited thier exsisting 3rd valve to make it work. If I knew how to post pictures on here I would post some of what I have.

I have not looked but I am sure mine is the same way.
What you need to make that work is a BM19694 kit from JD. That includes the cable and handle and all the necessary lines and fittings to make that valve usable. But I think you will find that nobody has them anymore and JD is less than helpful in trying to locate any kit from another dealer that just might have them in stock. JD seems to have removed the number from their parts system and therefore cannot search existing inventory.
Most of the parts are most likely still available in piece meal form and I did look most of them up on JD parts online, but when I got to a cost of over $400 I stopped and determined I would find a cheaper way to do it.

James,
You may want to check another dealer. I just called yesterday to get a price on the Power Beyond for my 4310 and I was given a price of $232. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Tororider,
Well it is a little late now since the parts are already in at the dealer.
But you have a 4310 which is newer than my 4300. The price seems to go up the older it gets.

Steviep,
What have you decided to do?

ordered my 3rd valve today, my dealer found it. It seem that awile back JD had some changes to their part #. The new part # is LVBM 19694. The dealer told me that JD has forgot to mention this to thier dealers. Mine should be here by the end of the month for the mire price of $245.00

Picked up my 3rd valve kit today now I need to install it. It say I need to remove the valve body to install the kit. There are 2 o ring between the valve body and the transmission. The dealer was unable to find a part number for the o rings. My question is has anyone installed this kit before and if you have do you actually have to take the valve body off to install the kit.

A friend of mine put a 3rd valve on his 2120 Ford a few years ago, he said all he had to do was bolt it in place and plum up the outlets/valving. I would imagine there is some sort of plug/port to uncap on the valve body. He said it was fairly simple.

well the third valve kit is installed thanks that a brother in law who use to be a JD mechanic and now a bobcat mechanic. The 3rd valve is already installed from the factory so you don't have to remove the valve body but you do have to remove the seat, tire, fender and all the little covers around the seat. It took about 4 hours and that was only because of my brother-in-law, by myself it would have taken about 2 days, my estimate. I'm an electrician not a mechanic. Now I have to install the plow. Oh yeah my brother-in-law make hydrolic hoses, I hope he doesn't think he is done yet.
