WOW---gotta love those auctions, went to one and laying in the back on a pallet was 4 chunks of metal, side profile of a bell, each about 15 inches high, solid 5 inches thick and a "knob" with a hole in it on top. Auctioneer couldn't sell the pile of scrap metal next to them so he added everything to one pile and I got it for $12.00. Another guy agreed to take the rest of the iron home, I got the bells and a solid bar 3/4 inch X 3 feet (or whatever is the PERFECT size to fit in the 3 point hitch arms) While loading the weights on a trailer (asked for help from the guy I gave the scrap to) he guessed them to be 200-250 lbs each---I thought naw--can't be I loaded the first two myself. Got them off the trailer and weighed one today---230 lbs each---This will be a great help at the right price for this winter.
Thanks for the ideas everyone
