I got a price from a dealer for $16,200.00 for a JD 4110 w/ hst, FEL & ballast box. Thought it was a bit high. Dealer is close to home ( 8 miles ) so I want to do biz w/ them, but not if I'm giving away big bucks. ( I'm in upstate NY ).

Also, what does a similiarly equip't Kubuta in the same size range w/ a backhoe go for ? I was told I'm giving away $'s for JD , when I can get a Kubota w/ a BH for 'bout same money ? The BX23 TLB is attractive & cheap but seems smallish for my needs. ( 9 acres of hay fields & 21 acres of pasture that I cut ATV trails through, no mowing either field, some woodland clearing & planting ).

The price depends on location. Northeastern state residents typically pay a little higher price than those of us in the southeast. In November of 2003 I bought a new JD4310 sync reverser (not HST) with a 430 FEL for $16,900. I would say the price you got was a little high. As for paying extra dollars for Deere, when I shpped around, Deere and a comparable Kubota were $200 different. It was the Deere that was less. It was New Holland, Case International, and CAT that thought the most of their machines. The Deere 4110 and Kubota BX are to totally different machines. Maybe you can get away with a subcompact, if so, go for the BX.

If you look at retail prices Deere, NH, Kubota, etc. are very closely priced. What makes the difference is the dealers. In our area the Kubota dealer that was close to us wouldn't budge from retail. I could get Deere thousands of dollars less than a similiarly equipped Kubota. Other areas have reported the opposite.

It's just going to depend on what machine you like the best and which color dealer is going to give you the best deal.

This one should be in the Deere Buying/Pricing forum

I would think that since the poster is also asking about Kubota, it would be okay to have it in this forum. John

My JD 4010 was $9,775 HST & joy stick. FEL was $2,595. Dealer said the ballast boxes were $180. Also, the 4110 was $2,000 higher.

Your price sounds awful high.

I initially was going to move this to JD but I agree with John that it is comparing the JD and Kubota for prices.
