Hi, Newbie here. I have a JD 4110HST and after the last snow I noticed I was leaking hydraulic fluid. After much searching, I discovered it was coming from a gasket under a plate on the side of the tranny. (left side as you are sitting on the tractor) I couldn't tighten the bolts, so I loosened them and re'
-tightened them. As far as I can tell it has sopped leaking. However, It has not had any hard use since then. When it was leaking the tractor was under pretty heavy strain--snowblowing over a foot of heavy wet snow on a long driveway. Does the tranny build up more pressure under a heavy load that would cause the leak? If it starts to leak again, any suggestions or secrets I should know before replacing the gasket? (i.e. the shaft for the 4WD comes through that plate-new seal?)
Thanks, Jim
