I have a 2000 JD 4200 with a JD 420 front end loader which is bleeding off from the raised position. I know that if the lift cylinders piston seals go bad the loader would bypass oil allowing the loader to leak off but with 2 lift cylinders what are the odds that both would go bad at the same time? I 'm thinking the problem is in the control valve. Am I on the right track? Is there an adjustment on the valve or seals that need to be replaced? Thanks, Dan.

You could try re-seating the loader quick connects but I doubt that's the problem.
If even one cylinder leaks the other won't hold much weight. Been there done that. Time to rebuild both cylinders.

There are no "seals" in the valve unfortunately. Its very common for the seals in the cylinder to leak by internally, like MD wrote, its time to rebuild them.

Oh, BTW, this is not a "AG" tractor, you question would get more attention in the regular JD forum.
