I have a new to me 2003 4210 with ehydro trans - 815 hours. It's bogging down going up a small incline while mowing relatively short grass. The indicator light is flashing 3 short and one long. Is this something electrical? It also slows down a bit even when not mowing, not as bad, and I don't get the indicator lights unless I am mowing. Confused and hoping there is an easy remedy?

Thanks

Are you familiar with all the different ehydro settings on the 4210?

I am not anymore, but recall that some of them can be a bit confusing and conflicting.

I am still trying to learn all the ehydro settings, yes they are somewhat confusing to me too. Thanks for the link to that thread, missed that one when I attempted a search. Since I have no idea what a potentiometer is (I do now after researching) I'm probably going to have to contact a dealer. Reading that info leads me to believe it's not something I can repair. Hopefully I can find an ehydro settings combo that will work. Thanks for the replies. If anyone else has other thoughts or ideas I would appreciate hearing them. Thanks

What gear range are you mowing in, when you sense the lack of power?

beenthere - I was in B. I also tried C and it did the same thing.

Will have less HP in high "C" range, should have more in "B" range and more yet in "A"

"C" is only for road travel.. no engagement of attachments.

Are you using "load match" ?

Also look for something causing more load.. bearings? grass or wire wound around spindles? brake dragging?

Thank you. Will spend some time reading my manual in detail tonight. I just got the tractor and started cutting grass............Something tells me the brake may be sticking, pedals and park brake seem to function in an odd manner. Tomorrow I'll check these and the other items you mentioned. Love the help found on this forum. Thanks again

I personally don't like the "long arrow" mode at all in the little I've driven a 10 series. It make the transmission feel like it's being controlled with a rubber band. The short arrow is much more responsive.

The 4210 was underpowered, but the 4310 was not bad. I have the next generation (3x20) and there is no power in range C--transport only. A or B only for using the PTO or engaging ground. Also the torque curve peaks around ~1700 rpm, so if you are dragging under there you definitely will feel a power drop-off.
