Update on my other post on Hydraulic Pumps 4210s:

Although there was a recent change in DESIGN of the main
implement pump on the 4210 (or so I've been told, the higher output pump of the 4310 was added quite a while back,
about January 2003 or possibly earlier. That's when the
page in my printed parts book was changed.

Why this was never altered in the sales books or on the
website is beyond me. I wonder how many sales they lost
from people looking at hydraulic flow?

How do you tell if you already have the bigger pump?

Take off the left side hood panel, near the bottom of the opening you'll see the double pump (steering and implement). You can check your owners manual for a picture of what it looks like.

On the pump it will have it's displacement "14.6cc" and part
number. LVA11453 is the 4310 pump with 14.6cc displacement.
The old smaller pump has a different number (I don't know it)
but will have 11.9cc stamped in the pump body. All of the 4210
4310 4410 have the same 9cc Steering Pump.

I also noticed the following serial number breakdowns for
the 4210. All start with LV4210H for HST Models, LV4210S for
synch shift models. These are just blocks of numbers it doesn't mean they made that many units.

HST
2002 models are between 120001 - 220000
2003 models are between 220001 - 230000
2004 models are between 320000 -

SYNCH SHIFT
2002 models are between 128001 - 228000
2003 models are between 228001 - 328000
2004 models are between 328001 -

And the best news is that if you want to bump your
hydraulic flow up 22.6% and get the bigger pump, they are
only $225 retail. That is extremely economical for a
hydraulic pump!

In fact I checked a few parts on Deere's online parts system
and was pleasantly surprised. I have no clue as to why the
optional higher output alternator (55 vs 40) was so much
dough since 55 is no super alternator, but a lot of parts
I checked were really priced right.

That alternator was about 2-300 if purchased with the tractor
and $560 if purchased later! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I think if I needed one
that bad I'd hang one of those PTO units and be able to light
up my neighborhood! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Cool deal on the hydraulic pumps though!

Check yours if you might already have it. I thought this
loader was a little wild compared to the one I tried at a
dealer some time ago. Now I know why this loader feels so
ready to go at pretty low rpm. Will be great for running
other stuff as well. (Hydraulic back massager, hydraulic
ego massager etc)

For anyone wanting to buy the new pump. Like del said that is a awesome price. Most of the time, a pump like that will run 2.5 times that price.

ok, del you're a little scary...

GREAT posts! I think the reason they don't get the info out there faster is to sell the stock already on lots. But I think it'd be better to advertise this one, it wouldn't be any trouble for dealers to figure the new pump into the price.

I'm not trading back my 4310, though... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

When I first saw the price ($225) I thought maybe I'd looked up the
price for the GASKET /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

And they've been throwing the bigger pump in for free the last how many
months as a running change.

I wanted the smaller tractor but almost went for the 4310
because of the 23% better flow.

If I'd seen this in the specs I'd have stopped kicking tires
and purchased sooner.

I know there's that business "ethic" of promising less than
you deliver so people are always happy but this is pretty
cool.

Now all I have to do is poke around and see that they put
the 4410's engine in this!

I have been wondering why even with weight on the back this
throws mud in a rooster tail like a dirt bike when I use
too much throttle.../forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'm sure I can blow off the neighbor kid on his ATV.
