With scr lever in neutral and/or all gear levels in neutral position the tractor will creep forward if parking brake is not engaged. Also if not attempting to move forward there is still a drag on the engine which all stops if the clutch is pushed in. Ideas?

thanks in advance and once again please be gentle ...

The service tech manual shows adjustments to both the clutch linkage and the shift linkage, so getting the service tech manual may be your next step.

May not be your problem, but sounds like it.

Hey beenthere .... thanks for not flaming me as I deserved! I am delirious from helping change out the upper seal in my left front axle spindle which is not quite as easy as the JD parts guy said ...

Not sure how I got scr out of srt as it should be ... that said I will examine further the service tech manual to see about adjusting the clutch if that will help.

Thanks again and I will follow up.

Well, nothing gained by flaming any TBN member.. it is just not a TBN thing to do.

Here are some other pages from the tech manual that may help.. hopefully will give you some ideas.

As to the seal, someday I will do that to the right axle seal.. not bad enough yet as I leave the fill plug/ dip stick loose so pressure when the oil warms up doesn't push on the seals. Works for me.

Thanks again. As per the right side axle seal it is quite easy once you have a tool made to remove the nut holding the bearing in place ... I will upload info to go along with what is in that thread.

I was just wondering if this is a new problem or ongoing? Is tractor new to you? If transmission gears are in neutral, it shouldn't be able to creep regardless of forward / reverse or clutch adjustment. Transmission being overfilled with oil can cause issues like this. How is your oil level? WHat kind of oil is in transmission? Should be LoVis Hygard. If heavier oil is used, could also cause this.
