After reading about everything I could find on this great site about the big 3 in the 30 hp HST class, I believe I am going green to keep my 17 acres in shape. My main reason is the difference in dealers. The fact that they sponsor a golf tournament and my wifes family is from the Quad Cities (Deeres home) is also a factor. I have been to JD Deere World. What a place.
My situation is ...I have a price on the 4310 -ehydro, with R-4s,mid pto, and the 430- loader for $18000. Tractor alone is 15000. This is with Deere 3.9 -60 month financing.
Questions.
1. If I get my own financing should I get a break on the tractor price due to the low interest rate penalty the dealer has to pass on to me?
2. I really would like the 300cx loader. how much should it cost to upgrade and is it worth it?
3. Should I get the MX-5 or another rotary cutter?
4. I will need a strong PH digger as I will be fencing 20 acres in the near future. Dealer quoted me 700.00 for the mid size Bushhog w/9" auger. Is this a good price and a good PH digger?
5. What size box blade should I have? It will get a work out.
6. Should I get attachments elsewhere?
Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks for all the great information that has been put out here. It has really helped educate me on what I need versus what I thought I needed. My wife is like many others out there..... You may buy a tractor Deere..JUST GET IT OVER WITH!!!!
Thanks again.

The quote I had was less than a few hundred to move up to the 300 series loader, the problem was the wait. I have done a lot of looking and even though I went Kubota (yeah long story) I liked the 4410 with the MX-5. Really think the Deere MX's are head and shoulders above the others in design. Seems like the people that own them love them.

In my quotes, by the time all was said and done the Deere implements were a little more expensive but not enough to have stopped me from getting them if I had gone green.

Good luck, my wife was in that "get it over with!" mode too.

The price I am getting on a 4310 with the same set up and a 300cx loader is 19800 - looks like you have a pretty good deal going. However, I do agree that getting the new loader and extra 350lbs of lift would be nice /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The quote I have is 20.7k with 300CX loader, grill guard, eHydro, mid PTO, rear remote, telescopic links, loaded R4's, and blockheater. It sounds like you got a great price...

Hello everyone!
I'm looking to buy a 4310 4w ehydro with 430, and a 47 or 48 backhoe, could you please tell me the name and number of the dealer you found it for 18K? I think that is a great price. Tom.

Bolo,
First off, Merry Christmas! I am looking at a couple of threads while the family prepares to open gifts. I hopefully can help if you are still looking at a 4310. I have the 300cx loader and can tell you it is easily worth the money and wait to get one. I have used a 430 in other situations and the 300 cx is a much nicer loader. Most dealers now can locate one for you. Although they are still scarce, my dealer found and obtained one for me in five working days. Second, I do not own a rotary cutter, but my neighbor has an MX5 on his mid frame and claims it is the nicest RC available. Good enough for me. He and his family have a long lineage working for and with John Deere; he should know. With regard to the box scraper, I have the 60 inch because I live in a hilly area and wanted to pull it easily, which the 4310 does. If your terrain is relatively flat, you could go with the 72", or the in between 65" and be happy. Keep in mind the wider the box blade, the less manuverable in tight spaces the tractor will be. Finally, I am an advocate of purchasing from one place, unless the dealer cannot fulfill your needs. Especially now, John Deere has some discounting if one buys multiple attachments. Unfortunately, they are wise to the loader being popular and do not count it as an attachment toward the total. I paid just over $23,000 straight sale for a 4310 with 300cx, r4 with rimguard, ehydro, 72" boom blade with hydraulic angling and a 60" box blade, tax included.

You guys are going to kill me. I found a pretty good deal on a 2003 Kubota L3130 with 50 hours. I do appreciate all the help on the Deere, but I was able to get into this class a little cheaper with the used Kubota. Best of luck to all in the new year. Thanks again for all your quality insight and advice.
