Good morning, I have a JD 4400 Ser.#440875 a 2002 yr. I believe. It will crank over easily but will not start. I can feel and hear the fuel solenoid click open and I have changed the oil and air filter. It happened about a month ago so I used the above post as a guide and tried to put in new thermistors. Here is what that led to. I went to JD and bought two. They were very small (less than the size of a dime) and had two leads to solder. I spent an hour trying to get behind the fuse panel but it will not come out without major line disconnecting, etc. After prying it about 45*, with a strong light I was able to see that the thermistors were not back there. I put all the parts, cowling, dash board and steering pieces back in and went back to JD. This time I bought the K3 module (it's about 1" cubicle with 5 tines in the back. I plugged it in and the tractor cranked instantaneously and has cranked the same for hundreds of times for a month. Last night I shut it down in the shed with 3/4 tank of fuel and running beautifully. This morning, same thing, cranks over, wont start. I had bought an extra module at JD and installed it but no go. I checked the oil, air, fuel and solenoid and wiring harness but no change. It just sits there wah, wah, wah, wah, wah with no signs of firing off. Any help on this would be most welcome, thanks. I do have a question? If the fuse panel on mine wont swing open to expose the back and the thermistors is mine an earlier model? Are the thermistors included in the K3 cubicle module? If not, where are they located on this 440875 ser. tractor. I am at a total loss on this or I would not ask for help. I would appreciate any information. Thanks, Steve
